Morris Baseball continues its winning ways.

Morris 12U- National was the only team in tournament action over the easter weekend going 2-0 and capturing the 1 seed in a rain shortened tournament.

After the quiet easter weekend, Morris Baseball picked up right where it left off.

Morris 10U came out hot in the GLYSE Spring Slamfest winning all three of their pool play against the Bridgeport Bombers (11-0), Born 2 Ball (12-1), and Downers Grove Fury (4-0) to become the overall number 1 seed. Morris 10U squeaked by Born 2 Ball 6-5 and then won the championship over Hitters Hammers on a walk off hit by the score of 10-8.

Morris 11U stumbled out of the gate on Saturday losing 15-7 to Jem baseball but quickly regained their footing beating the NWI Shockers 10-1 and the Akadema Aviators 16-1 to claim the four seed for Sunday’s bracket play. Morris 11U handled the #1 seed Outsiders Baseball Club 13-2 to ease into the championship before falling to Welles Park to place second.

Morris 12U – American started the weekend with 2 slugfests winning Game 1 over the Cangelosi Sparks 12-10 and Fokus 19-13 becoming the 3 seed for Sunday’s bracket play. Morris was able to beat Go Pro – Kujak while falling to the West Englewood Tigers 14-6 in the Semi Finals.

Morris 12U – National played in a Best of 3 Series with the Outsiders Baseball Club for the USSSA Battle of the Aces Championship. Morris 12U took the first game of the three game set 7-4 after nine innings while losing the night cap 10-0 forcing the deciding game three to be played on Sunday. Morris 12U jumped out to an early lead but the Outsider responded each and every time before scoring 4 in the bottom of the 5th to take a 9-5 lead and the Championship Game.

Morris 13U – American powered their way through bracket play in the USSSA Battle of the Aces championship beating the NWI Renegades 12-3 and the Portage tribe 13-6. Being a 1 seed, Morris blew out the NWI Force 18-3 and defeated the Portage Tribe again by a score of 7-2 to win the Championship.

Morris 13U – National played in the Best of the Best championships and did not disappoint winning the first two games 8-0 over Rhino Baseball and 10-0 over the Huntley Red Raiders to be the overall number 1 seed going into bracket play. While in bracket play, Morris cruised to an easy 12-4 win over the Outsiders Baseball Club, muscled past the Huntley Red Raiders 6-2 and defeated Rhino Baseball 6-4 to win the Championship.

Morris 14U – Lenz steamrolled their way through bracket play winning 6-0 over Oak Forest Blue Demons-Zielinski  and 15-0 over 14U Cunningham. They did not let their foot off the gas defeating 14U Cunningham 12-0 in the Semi-Finals and finally allowing a run but scoring more winning the Championship 8-3 over FoKus.

Morris 14U – Pettit hit the ground running in the GLYSE Spring Slamfest outscoring opponents (Illiana Thunderbolts, Vikings United, Midwest Rangers) 44-18 in pool play to become the 1 seed. In bracket play, Morris kept the bats alive winning 12-9 over White Sox – Elite and 12-4 over the Westchester Chargers to bring home another piece of hardware.


USA Baseball 12U National Team Open Development Camp

Morris Baseball is proud to have partnered with USA Baseball to host an Open Development Camp on May 10th, 2017 from 5pm to 9pm.
The USA Baseball 12U National Team Open Development Program will feature a series of camps across the country for athletes born after January 1, 2005. These camps will place an emphasis on identifying players for the 12U National Team while also promoting player development and will serve to deliver Team USA training techniques to aspiring national team players from coast to coast. Athletes will be offered a unique training opportunity with a curriculum developed by current and former national team staff. To deliver this national team and player development program on an unprecedented scale, USA Baseball has partnered with respected members of the amateur baseball community from across the country. Development camps will take place in January through early June on a local level aimed at providing families with unparalleled access to a Team USA evaluation.

12U National Team Open Development Camps info:

  • All camps cost $95 per player

Morris Baseball Opening Weekend Recap

Morris Baseball started out their respective seasons on the right foot. 5 out of the 6 teams opening their seasons made it to bracket play with 4 of them playing for the championship.

Morris 11U defeated the Homewood Hawks 8-0 and the Duneland Flyers 17-3 to be the number 1 seed entering bracket play. Homewood Hawks came back with a vengeance defeating Morris 8-5 in the Semi-Finals.

Morris 12U – American opened the tournament by routing the Tinley Park Bulldogs 9-1 and the Lincoln Way Prospects 19-1. By going 2-0 and only allowing 2 runs, Morris was the #1 seed and continued their dominance throughout by steamrolling over the Northwest Indiana Shockers 11-1 and the Lincoln Way Prospects again 14-2 before besting Top Prospect Thunder 8-7 to bring home a championship.

Morris 13U – American opened the tournament up with a 6-1 to the Northwest Indiana Shockers then proceeded to turn the bats on beating the Chesterton Vipers 12-0 giving them the top bracket 3 seed. Morris bats didn’t slow as the beat the Frankfort Force 12-1 then proceeded to avenge their only loss to the Northwest Indiana Shockers by beating them 2-1 to advance to the championship game. In the championship game, Morris routed the Outlaws 17-3 winning the second championship of the weekend.

Morris 13U – National followed the same strategy as the American team losing their first game to Rhino Baseball South 5-1 but winning the latter game of pool play 8-6 over the OC Thunder. With a record of 1-1 heading into bracket play, Morris 13U National bats erupted scoring 10+ runs in each game (12-6 over the Show and 14-0 over Top Tier White) including the championship to win 11-0 over the OC Thunder.

Morris 14U – Pettit took the long haul down to Jacksonville, Illinois to play in  14U Perfect Game event. Jack Fiorio started the tournament out by throwing a No-Hitter over the Rawling Extreme winning 11-0 but then falling in the night cap 6-2 to Elite Baseball Training. Starting bracket play as a 3 seed, Morris beat the Lenz Field Warriors  7-4 and then beat the Iowa Capitals 10-8 to win the Championship.

Morris 14U – Lenz followed the same route as the 12U – Americans winning both Pool Play games 4-1 over the Crown Point Bulldogs and 6-1 over the TC Trolls to be the overall number 1 seed. Morris then defeated the TC Trolls in the Semi-Finals 7-2 before losing to the Northwest Indiana Shockers in the Championship game.
